MTPT
will be organized as follows:
|
The
event will be publicized at the web site (www.lx.it.pt/mtpt/). |
|
In
the announcement, a call for problems will be opened and
will remain open until late in 2002.
A template for the electronic submission of problems will
be made available on the web site. |
|
A
panel, composed mainly of mathematicians, will evaluate
the problems by-weekly and the
selected problems will be posted on the web site (organized
around the five main themes). |
|
Interested
mathematicians are expected to pick-up problems from the
posted list, work arround
them, and submit proposed solutions. |
|
A
5 day workshop will be held from 8-12 Sptember. Each day
will be devoted to one theme. Each workshop day will include:
|
A
presentation of a mathematical subject (3 hours, in
two periods of 1.5 hours each
during the morning) related to each one of the mentioned
themes; |
|
Two
short presentations (of 30 to 45 minutes each), to
be delivered by Portuguese
researchers, focusing on the application of the mathematical
theme to
telecommunication problems; |
|
Presentation
of selected pairs of problems/solutions (1.5 to 2
hours). This would
enable to present up to 3 problems (and solutions)
per day. |
